Veronika Klusáková

Executive Board Member, Prague, Czech Republic (2026-2030)

Veronika Klusáková graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, where she later served as Assistant Professor at the Department of Theatre and Film Studies (2012–2020). Her work in cultural programming includes roles at some of the Czech Republic's leading film festivals: dramaturge and programme director at PAF Olomouc and Academia Film Olomouc, contributor to the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, programme director of Cinema Metropol in Olomouc and Kasárna Karlín cinema in Prague, and Q&A coordinator at One World Festival.

From 2019 to 2025, Veronika taught the history of world cinema at FAMU. Since 2022, she has served as editor-in-chief of ArteActa, transforming it into an open-access, peer-reviewed journal focused on artistic research. Her scholarship examines film and television history through interdisciplinary lenses — Southern Gothic and its socio-political dimensions, childhood through gender and queer studies, and the aesthetics of tomboyism — most recently in her book Southern Gothic in Contemporary Television Series (NAMU, 2023).

Veronika currently serves as Vice-Rector for Scientific and Artistic Research Activities and Equal Opportunities at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic.
