Jan Schacher is Professor for Music and Technology at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. He holds a PhD in Arts from the Royal Conservatoire and University of Antwerp.

As an artist-researcher and educator performing on stage and other environments he works with and through sound and presence. Trained as an instrumentalist, composer and digital artists, both his practice and research focus on the body as central site of action, perception, and culture.
